Handmade Soap For Eczema

Handmade Soap

(For eczema or rash on face and body)

A few years ago I decided to make my own soap because my son and my daughter have rashes or doctor said eczema, my daughter has just a few spots on her both arms, one spot on her leg and one small spot behind her neck, but my son have a lot and itches a lot, he scratched a lot while he sleep at night, and this make me feel pity for him and always want to find something that can heel him from that rashes problem.

I always bring them to the doctor and the doctor gave them a medicine to take daily and a cream to apply on the skin every day, but when the medicine all gone and stop using the cream, the rash is come back again, this is torture for them and it keep me busy all the time too, because I have to helps applies the cream on their skin.

So, one day I got a book “How to make soaps” from my mom she brought the book from Thailand in Thai language, and also my neighbor making soap for sale, I ordered oatmeal soap from her with no scent, the soap is good but is not good enough for my son and my daughter and is not healing the rash they has, may be she used just a small amount of oatmeal in the soap.

So, I decided to make my own soap by mix lots of oatmeal with fresh tomato juice extract in soy soap base, my neighbor gave me the soy soap base that enough to make 2 bar of soap, because she don’t want it any more, I still thanks her for that.

These are the reason why I used tomato juice and oatmeal for my soap.

- I use tomato juice because tomato have vitamin C and helps brighten the skin.

- Oatmeal helps give moisture and stop itchy skin.

  You can use boiled oatmeal apply on the itchy skin and leave it on for at least 15 minute then wash it off with cold or warm water, this way it help stop the itchy skin too, but it a mass, so using soap is better.

The soap I make is good and it's really heal the rash and never come back for a while I cannot remember how long, but my daughter rash on behind her neck and on the lag, never come back again, except one arm that come back and still itchy, but it not real bad like what she has it before, the other arm is find no problem.

So, when they have rash again, I asked my neighbor where did she order that soy soap base from, but she cannot remember it, because she order from several web site or she like to shop around. Anyway I decided to order the goat milk soap base instead because I though maybe it better, because milk is good for the skin too, so from then till now I still using goat milk making our soap.

Let’s shorten the talking to the soap recipe.

Here are the materials that you will need to make the soap!

Equipments:

* Big Pyrex or microwave safe cup (I used 32 fl.oz cup)

* Small measuring cup ¼ cup size

* Spray bottle

* Rubbing alcohol (Use 70%)

* Scale

* Wooden stick or wooden spoon

* Measuring Spoon

* Wax paper

* Molds

(Plastic and silicone molds are the best for soap mold, it’s easy to release the soap out from the mold)

*.*Today I don’t have any soy soap base but I have and used goat milk soap base for this recipe.

Eczema Soap recipe

Goat Milk With Tomato and oatmeal

Ingredient:

1 lb. All natural goat milk soap base

¼ cup. Cooked oatmeal

¼ cup. Fresh tomato juice

Direction:

1. Cut 1 pound goat milk soap base into a small piece.

2. Extract fresh tomato with juice extractor to get a ¼ cup of tomato juice.

3. Pour boiling water over a ¼ cup oatmeal, just enough to cover the oatmeal, not to much water and grind oatmeal with tomato juice for a few second with the blender.

4. Melt soap base in the microwave 10 second at a time until all the soap melted to a liquid and take the soap out from a microwave.

5. Put oatmeal and tomato juice in the melted soap and stir until all the ingredients mixed well.

6. Pour the ingredients into the molds and spray with alcohol to stop the bubble; you don’t have to use alcohol to spray on the soap if you don’t want too (I don't use it because I want it all natural for my son skin)

7. Wait till the soap dry, it will take about a few hours for soaps to dry and harden enough to un-mold the soap.

After you take the soap out from the molds;….

*.* Lets the soap dry on the rack or on wax paper for 1 days before you wrap the soap with plastic wrap, put in the box or plastic bag.

*.* If the soap is difficult to get out from the mold, then put the soap in the freezer for five minutes and the soap will easy to release out from the mold.
