Scan printed file with Photoshop
What is printed file? Printed file are none digital file, the example of printed file are book, magazine, photos that using film camera, any images you draw on a pieces of a paper and etc.
To scan your printed photo or any other printed file with Photoshop, you have to have Photoshop installed in your computer, if you don’t have Photoshop installed in your computer then you can download the free trial online or buy Photoshop soft ware your own.
The next tool you will need it’s a scanner, if you have printer at home, check can it use for scanner or not, some printer machines are multiple use, the one I have it’s all in one printer – scanner and copier.
When you want to scan your printed picture, do the following;
- Turn on your scanner machine
- Face down your photo on the scanner
- Open your Photoshop
- Click on “File” then “Import” > WIA Support
- On WIA Support page click “Start”
- At “Select device” page, select on the device you use then click “OK”
- Now show the new page that say… What do you want to scan?
On this page you will need to select on an option that match your image type.
- You also have to adjust the quality of the scanned picture, if you want to scan the picture and upload to the web you will need low resolution (DPI) at 75, the high resolution is for print use only. I set my resolution at 75 DPI then click OK.
- Now click on preview to see the picture is good enough, and if you happy with the quality of the picture then click scan.
- And now you will see your picture in the Photoshop
- Before you save your picture lets go to
Image > image size Then set the resolution to 72.
If you want to up load the picture to your blog or face book page then the low resolution at 72 is good, but if you want to print the picture you will need to change it to high resolution at least 300 DPI. You can also change the picture size to small or big as you like on this page then click OK.
- Now save the picture as JPEG by…
- Go to file > save for web and devices and save the picture to any folder that you will remember and easy to find.

That's pretty cool! I never know that. Normally I just use the scanner software to scan the picture and document. I will find out and try this technique.
